Tonight was Roller Derby night! Last bout of the season and
it was an exciting double header - the local Derby Girls
rocked the house with high scoring wins in both bouts and
lots of fun and action throughout!
2009 Thu 22nd Oct Old passions merge into something new
Long ago and not so far away, I was a girl with a
passion...roller skating! I loved it; the feel of the wind
blowing my hair out behind me as I flew through my
neighborhood, the sound of the wheels as they rolled over
the ground, the feel of the vibrations as I moved one foot
and then the other across the different textures like the
smooth tennis courts, cracked sidewalks, rough asphalt, and
the fresh pavement of the new school parking lot. On Friday
nights though, I could be found at the indoor skating rink
with their polished wood floors, old thin carpet over
concrete, and disco ball lighting.
