Today is Friday, my day for wandering in one way or another. This was not a day for wandering far and wide, but still, there was wandering. Hubby and I went into downtown and walked around hand in hand, stopping into a few shops and thinking ahead to Christmas a little, which is really not so far away!

After wandering around town for an hour or so, we headed to a little restaurant we like for lunch. The outside patio overlooks the creek that runs through town and after lunch we wandered down to the water and crossed from one side to the other on the same rocks where my brother and I played when we were kids. I did a little wandering through time as I remembered playing in the creek during the summers with my brother and our friends while our parents sat on the patio above listening to the live music as they ate lunch. There was a lot of laughing, splashing, and catching of crawdads back then - good memories!

Once we were done in the creek and on the other side, we walked up the little hillside and sat on the grass in the park and talked for a while. When we realized our time was coming to an end for the day's wandering, we headed back to the car, hand in hand, laughing and talking about the projects we want to work on in the coming week.

It was a nice day for wandering, and good to wander close to home, keeping it simple. The best thing about wanderings like this is my wandering partner, who makes every day a wonderful adventure in our journey together!
