2009 Thu 12th Nov Thankful Thursday...
With Thanksgiving right around the corner, and seeing how its always on a Thursday, it seemed appropriate to set aside Thursdays as my "Thankful Day". I have so many things in my life to be thankful for so I thought it will be a good thing to choose just one or two to write about each Thursday.
Right off the bat, I have to say how thankful I am for my family. My husband and my son, well they truly complete me, to steal a cheesy movie line. Without them, my life would be a very sad, dim and uneventful place. I am thankful for them every single day, and I try to remember to let them know how important they are to me, how much I love them, and how much I appreciate them everyday. Sometimes I let them know just by saying it out loud and other times I try to say it without words, but with actions such as giving foot massages (an absolute favorite in my house) or baking a special dessert or cooking their favorite homemade meal or doing any number of other things along those lines.
A lot of times these little things seem to go unnoticed, which is ok because I am not doing it for me, I am doing it to please them whether they recognize it or not. Then, sometimes right out of the blue, one of them will give me a foot massage, or do the dishes after dinner, or take out the trash without being asked, or just hang out with me when I'm doing something boring, or invite me out to skate with them...and I know that they know that I love them with all my heart - and that they love me the same.
I am thankful for my family for so many reasons, but here are just a few:
their big hearts and generosity
their ability to see the humor in everything
their sense of adventure
how much fun we have together
their laughter
the dedication to each other
their love...
